The Laboratory of Explosives Testing JOZ-W.1 functions within the Conformity Assessment Body JOZ. The Laboratory is accredited by the Polish Centre for Accreditation, accreditation number AB 1710, within the scope of testing specified in harmonised standards compliant with the directive concerning explosives.
Outside the scope of accreditation, the Laboratory conducts:
- testing of the safety levels of explosives in the face of coal dust and/or methane in a 44 m-long experimental drift.
- testing of toxic gases (CO, CO2, NO and NOX) following the detonation of explosives, according to the requirements of European standard EN 13631-16.
- inspection, post-incident and non-standard tests of blasting agents outside certification.
Duties of the Laboratory of Blasting Equipment Testing JOZ-W.2:
- product testing within the scope of blasting equipment (e.g. machines for mixing and loading explosives, hoses for loading explosives into blastholes, mobile explosives depots, etc.) as specified in Appendix 1 to the Ordinance of the Council of Ministers of 30 April 2004 concerning the authorisation of products for use in mining plants (Dz. U. of 2004 No. 99, item 1003, as amended).
- testing of blasting equipment (e.g. exploders, blasting ohmmeters, stray current testers) for the purposes of certification, according to the requirements of European harmonised standard: EN 13763-26.
- detailed inspections of blasting equipment, as required by mining regulations (§ 80 – Ordinance of the Minister of Energy of 9 November 2016 concerning the detailed requirements regarding the storage and use of blasting agents and equipment in mining plant operations – Dz. U. of 2017, item 321), as well as its repairs or overhauls.
- inspection, post-incident and non-standard tests of blasting equipment outside certification.
